Double Basses Many luthiers prefer not to deal with double basses because of their size, and because their structure is different from the violin, viola and cello. At Simon Dubber Violins, bass players will find a warm welcome. Simon has carried out many bass repairs, and set up instruments for both classical and jazz players. It is common for Simon Dubber to have one or two basses in stock, usually student level instruments, but space limitations prevent more being immediately available. Nonetheless, good relationships with suppliers enable new basses to be sourced easily, and trade colleagues or other customers sometimes have instruments which can be made available to try out.
